We are taking practical action to deliver on our vision and mission by:

  • Reducing environmental impact through responsible sourcing, energy-efficient operations, and effective waste reduction

  • Supporting people and communities by supporting staff wellbeing, sourcing from small local businesses, volunteering in local schools, and engaging in charitable initiatives

What steps are we taking?

We are dedicated to minimising our environmental footprint and upholding the highest standards of environmental governance guided by continuous monitoring and evaluation.

Our Commitment

In 2025 we publicly committed to a near-term science-based emissions reduction target through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) of maintaining zero scope 1 and scope 2 emissions through 2030.

Going forward, we plan to measure and reduce our scope 3 emissions creating the foundations for making a net zero commitment.  

Our Strategy

Our Sustainability Plan sets out targets and practical actions across key areas of our operations. The plan is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect progress, innovation, and evolving best practices.

  • Annual workforce diversity monitoring and bi-annual employee surveys to better understand our team’s experiences and inform meaningful EDI actions.

  • As a participant in the UK government’s Disability Confident scheme, we are committed to attracting, supporting, and retaining disabled employees and those with long-term health conditions.

  • Ensuring staff have access to mental health and wellbeing support through our internal team of trained mental health first aiders and dedicated employee assistance programme.

  • Prioritising local and inclusive procurement, actively choosing to work with small, local, and diverse suppliers wherever possible to strengthen our supply chain and contribute to more resilient and inclusive local economies.

Maverex Sustainability Report 2024

To benchmark our progress we’ve partnered with EcoVadis, a globally recognised sustainability assessment platform. EcoVadis evaluates performance across four key areas: environmental impact, labour and human rights standards, ethics, and procurement practices.

We’re proud to have achieved a gold rating in our most recent EcoVadis assessment in August 2025, a reflection of the progress we've made and a foundation for continuous improvement.
